Towerview Primary School Nursery Unit

Our Nursery Unit is a purpose built facility situated within the grounds of the school. The current building opened in 2009 and is an integral and significant part of Towerview Primary School. The extensive school facilities are available to the children enrolled within the Nursery Unit, which will assist the transition from the Nursery to Primary School education. This will be further reinforced by encouraging the wearing of special uniform, which will identify with the Primary School.

Towerview Primary Nursery Unit has direct links to the main Towerview Primary School and works closely alongside the school to support the majority of our children in transitioning into our P1 classrooms.

We follow the same overarching vision and values as the Primary School:

"Together we promote high achievements, personal development and learning for life and work - success."

Our Core Values are:

- Respect                 - Kindness                       - Self-control

- Honesty                 - Commitment               - Self-Esteem

As with Towerview Primary School, the Nursery Unit encourages the emotional, social, spiritual and physical development of the children. Staffing comprises of an experienced and skilled specialist teacher along with qualified nursery assistance. Staff will provide a challenging and caring environment within which each child will be encouraged to acquire knowledge and skills leading to a positive attitude to learning.

We believe in the immense benefit of learning through experiences and play. We put a big influence on our outside spaces and encourage a lot of learning in these areas, with a particular focus on using our forest school area.

Our goal is to provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment that gives every one of our pupils the best possible start to their education. We want our nursery to be a place where children can grow, explore, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

The Board of Governors fully supports the work of the Nursery Unit and takes a keen interest in the progress of the children.

The Nursery Unit will operate two part-time sessions of 26 children attending each. Times of operation will be as follows; Morning Session :- 8.50am - 11.20am Afternoon Session :- 12.20pm - 2.50pm
